Statement of Philosophy:
St. Cyril of Alexandria School is a community of faith which believes in the guidance of the Holy Spirit and is dedicated to providing quality education and to promoting a love for learning.
While the parents are the primary educators, the school shares with the parents the responsibility of developing a faith in God which is viable and meaningful in each child. Faith is reflected through mutual respect for one another and recognition of the need to serve others. The vision celebrates the personhood of each student and enables the student to grow intellectually, to fulfill each individual's potential and to recognize the child's self-worth, and to see life as a series of choices and changes. Through self-reliance and self-discipline, the student is led to hope in the future and to live a successful and happy life based in a faith relationship with Jesus Christ and with his neighbor. Such growth requires presenting and modeling spiritual instruction and values. Recognizing individual needs as well as providing relevant curriculum is essential for academic excellence and for developing the skills needed in a contemporary society. The experience of membership in the entire faith community, school, and parish leads to an awareness of the fellowship of the world community and challenges each person to respond to the spirit in his or her life. |
