Sportsmanship is contagious....let's have an epidemic!
As stated in our Sports Handbook, “The Sports Program exists to provide a positive well organized activity that contributes to the development of the whole child. It is carried on in a manner that models and teaches Christian principles and the ideals of good sportsmanship.”
Students in grades 4-8, both male and female, may participate in the after school sports program. The sports program includes volleyball, basketball and track for students in grades 5-8. Fourth grade students may participate in track. Practices and games are after school and on some weekends. Tournaments and track meets are on weekends. A $40.00 fee is charged each athlete for each season. A uniform shirt and shorts are required for all three sports and are ordered through the athletic department. A student may not practice sports after school or play in a game on the same day he/she is absent from school or any portion of the day.
In order to attend practice athletes must wear proper athletic t-shirts, shorts, and tennis shoes. They may choose to wear knee pads for volleyball. For girls, hair should be pulled back for games and practices. No jewelry is allowed. Once each season has begun, daily sports practice runs from 3:15-5:00 pm.
Eligibility for sports - Students, grades 4 through 8, must have an overall C average and passing all subjects. Final decisions regarding eligibility will be based on the school’s determination of what is in the best interest of the child .
