Pima County Interfaith Council (PCIC) Workshop – September 5th: “A Justice of the Common Good”
A workshop addressing the issue of justice from a distinctively Christian point of view will be held on Sunday, September 5th from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at St. Francis in the Foothills United Methodist Church, 4625 E. River Road. The workshop will raise questions about the procedural justice of the modern nation sate, especially with its tendency to reduce justice to human rights. La Salette Missionaries to Host Pilgrimage to Our Lady of La Salette Shrine
A pilgrimage to Double Adobe, Arizona is being held on Sunday, October 10th beginning at 11:00 AM. Bus transportation from Trader Joe's parking lot on the corner of Oracle and Magee and Santa Cruz church on Sout Sixth Avenue will be available leaving at 8:00 AM and returning at 7:30PM. You are invited to a special retreat that will help you live in closer communion with God. This retreat will help you develop daily spiritual awareness so that, freely and naturally, you find yourself making choices that lead you closer to God in service to others.
The retreat, “Discernment on the Spiritual Journey,” will be led by Fr. Stephen Corder, a Jesuit priest and executive director of the Loyola Institute for Spirituality. It will begin Friday evening, October 15, and conclude at noon on Sunday, October 17. Your retreat experience will consist of short presentations, individual prayer, Eucharistic liturgy and much time in silence with the Lord in the beautiful desert setting of the Redemptorist Renewal Center, 7101 W. Picture Rocks Road, Tucson, AZ 85743.
No prior experience with Ignatian spirituality is necessary to benefit from this retreat. Just bring your Bible, a journal and a desire to encounter the Lord in profound new ways.
