Academic Scholar Program

The purpose of the Academic Scholars program is to provide students with learning alternatives when they begin to struggle with their studies.  St. Cyril School offers additional resources to our students who are having academic difficulties. Teachers encourage and invite students to come for extra assistance after school, several departments offer group tutoring and recently we have added the homework study club. We recognize that in some cases this is just not enough. Some students continue to need additional assistance and would be better served with a private tutor, here by known as Academic Scholar.   Now, with the Academic Scholars program students can get individualized assistance from qualified instructors in an after school environment.

We currently have three levels of academic scholars; certified teacher, specialist and college student.  Your selection will be based on your student’s need. You will find that some academic scholars will be specific to a general area of study, i.e., math, Spanish or science. Others may be categorized as a generalist, meaning that they are comfortable assisting in all subjects.

What to do:

Click through the detailed information on each of our scholars.  Once you have made a selection, you may contact them via email to determine the frequency needed and schedule a time for your student.  Rates vary and will be listed on each scholar’s link. Payments will be made directly to the scholar at the time of the mutually agreed upon session time.

Please note: The $25 annual processing fee made payable to St. Cyril School needs to be satisfied in order to participate in the Academic Scholar program.
