GIVING OPPORTUNITIES

We must rely on the generosity of parents, school alumni, St. Cyril of Alexandria parishioners, business partners and community friends to sustain and expand the spiritual mission, educational resources and capital facilities at St. Cyril of Alexandria School.  School administration is committed to making the St. Cyril of Alexandria School experience affordable and available for all interested families. 

Tuition alone does not meet the actual cost of educating each child at St. Cyril of Alexandria School.  Needed revenues for operational expenses, scholarships and capital improvements are generated from St. Cyril Parish support, stewardship, special events, the Arizona Private School Tuition Tax Credit via support from the Catholic Tuition Support Organization (CTSO), student-led fundraisers, Scrip programs, support from the St. Cyril of Alexandria Education Foundation, estate planning and annual appeals to school families, friends, alumni and parish members.

(1) CTSO - Catholic Tuition Support Organization

It costs you NOTHING! You get a dollar-for-dollar tax-credit.

Some important facts about the program:

More than 2,900 students received tuition scholarships.

Greater than 75% of the scholarships were awarded to low and middle income families.

Your contribution can be specifically directed to a particular school or schools, or to the undesignated general fund.

AND....your contribution costs you nothing! It is money you would pay in taxes anyway.

How to make a contribution:

Complete the secure on-line contribution by visiting CTSO online. Make sure to choose St. Cyril of Alexandria as the Parish to receive your support. Receipts will be mailed by the end of January. You can also come to the School Office and pick-up a hard copy to fill out and mail in yourself. (2) Scrip

Scrip is a term which means "substitute for money." Scrip certificates are real and negotiable gift certificates. St. Cyril School works with companies that buy large amounts of gift certificates/cards in bulk from grocery stores, drug stores, department stores, retail stores and restaurants as well as entertainment, home repair and automotive services. These certificates/cards are then purchased by our families at face value and a percentage is donated back to St. Cyril of Alexandria School.

There are a few ways to help the school:

1. Purchase Over-the Counter Grocery certificates --- You may purchase Fry's and Sunflower certificates at the School Office.

2. Order Scrip through the School Office --- You may complete an order form, attach a check made payable to St. Cyril School, and leave the order in the School Office. Orders are only placed on Tuesday mornings. Orders received no later than 9 a.m. on Tuesday will be ready the following Thursday afternoon and may be picke dup in the School Office. Participate in a national eScrip program --- eScrip and merchant partners like Safeway, Pep Boys, Coco's, Office Max and Macy's have created a system that rewards customer loyalty by contributing a percentage of purchases to your chosen school. You may participate by:

...registering your credit, debit and grocery club cards as supporters with the eScrip program. All you need to do is Log onto eScrip (enter group id #6568893) and register your debit and credit cards. Remember if you would like to link your Safeway card with eScrip, have your Safeway Club Card number available. Also, Safeway cards must be renewed every year.That may be done by going to the eScrip renewal link. For uninterrupted contributions, renew by November 1.

...shopping online. By clicking the link below to the Online Mall, you can also shop at your favorite brand name stores and automatically donate to our school. Anyone can use eScrip and benefit St. Cyril School through this link, but parents would need to register in order to track their contributions.

(3) Saint Cyril School Parent and Alumni Foundation

It is the mission and vision of this Foundation to raise funds for the school's most pressing financial needs. We aim to build new capacities for excellence in education by inspiring generosity and exceeding expectations. All monies will directly benefit the children of St. Cyril of Alexandria School.

Some of the ways you can support St. Cyril of Alexandria School include: cash gifts, planned giving, annual giving, honorary and memorial gifts and stock gifts. No matter how or how much you give, your generosity will make a difference in the life of a child.
