GIVING OPPORTUNITIES

Central to the guiding philosophy of St. Cyril of Alexandria School is the school-wide commitment to service—serving our Lord, serving others in our school, and serving our community.  It is an environment that not only teaches the value of philanthropy, but also encourages compassionate, life-long behavior. 

We must rely on the generosity of parents, school alumni, St. Cyril of Alexandria parishioners, business partners, and community friends to sustain and expand the spiritual mission, educational resources, and capital facilities at St. Cyril of Alexandria School.  School administration is committed to making the St. Cyril of Alexandria School experience affordable and available for all interested families.  Tuition alone does not meet the actual cost of educating each child at St. Cyril of Alexandria School.  Needed revenues for operational expenses, scholarships, and capital improvements are generated from St. Cyril of Alexandria parish support, stewardship, special events, the Arizona Private School Tuition Tax Credit via support from the Catholic Tuition Support Organization (CTSO), student-led fundraisers, Scrip programs, support from the St. Cyril of Alexandria Education Foundation, estate planning, and annual appeals to school families, friends, alumni, and parish members.

Last year, over $300,000 was contributed to the school through an array of fundraising and development efforts.  The Development Office at St. Cyril of Alexandria School is committed to offering these diverse activities and welcomes your participation and support.  Please contact our office at 881-4240.

Scrip

St. Cyril School works with companies that buy large amounts of gift certificates in bulk from grocery stores, drug stores, department stores, retail stores, and restaurants as well as entertainment, home repair and automotive services. These certificates are then purchased by our families at face value and a percentage is donated back to St. Cyril of Alexandria School.

There are two types of Scrip orders:

1. Locally processed orders will be filled by Thursday p.m. You are welcome to check in the office at anytime to see if your order has been processsed early.
2. Great Lakes processed orders must be turned in before 9 a.m. on Tuesday for arrival by late afternoon Thursday. If a Great Lakes processed order is turned in to the Office after 9 a.m., it will be held until the following week.

Some important facts about the program:

• More than 2,900 students received tuition scholarships.
• More than $4.5 million was raised last year but that's only a fraction of what's really needed.
• Greater than 75% of the scholarships were awarded to low and middle income families.
• Your contribution can be specifically directed to a particular school or schools, or to the undesignated general fund.
• AND....your contribution costs you nothing! It is money you would pay in taxes anyway.

How to make a contribution:

Complete the secure on-line contribution by visiting https://www.ctso-tucson.org/personal-contribution.aspx. Make sure to choose St. Cyril of Alexandria as the Parish to receive your support. Receipts will be mailed by the end of January. You can also come to the school office and pick-up a hard copy to fill out and mail in yourself. St. Cyril of Alexandria Education Foundation

The purpose of the Education Foundation is to further the religious, educational, moral, scientific and artistic endeavors of the school. Its focus is long range and works to insure financial stability to the school. The school receives disbursements which are allocated yearly from the income earned by the Foundation. Families may contribute to the Foundation or become a member.
