School Office

Regular office hours are Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. It is for the safety of the students that all visitors, parents, grandparents, etc., enter and check in through the office. Please speak with the receptionist before entering onto Cougar Court.

The St. Cyril of Alexandria School Library media program emphasizes literature and research.  Today students need to be excellent readers, as well as be able to conduct Internet searches, to assess that information and then to apply and share that information.

Fifth through eighth grades visit for teacher collaborated lessons, check out and research as needed.  Kindergarten visits the library weekly and first through fourth grades is scheduled every other week.  During class time students listen to stories, enjoy silent reading, practice library skills, develop internet research techniques, participate in readers’ theatre, and check out books.  Special events include author visits, puppet shows, reading programs, and the annual book fair.

Monday through Thursday - 8:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. & Friday - 8:00 a.m.to 1:30 p.m.
(Library books can be returned anytime in the blue Book Drop outside the library.)

The After School Program complies with the guidelines established by the Arizona Department of Health Services Office of Child Care Licensure. Their address is: 400 W. Congress, Tucson, AZ 85701. The phone number is 520-628-6540.

• Rate is $3.25 per hour per child.The hours of operation are 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 pm. Monday—Thursday and  1:30 p.m.—6:00 p.m. on Fridays.
• Attendance is taken at 3:20 p.m. for billing purposes.
• Enrollment and admission procedures require that the child be enrolled as a student at St. Cyril of Alexandria School and that registration is complete.
• Families of students using the program are billed monthly. Refunds are not available as fees are charged for the hours used. Any parent who does not pick his/her child up by 6:00 p.m. will be charged a fee of $1.00 per minute per child with a 10-minute minimum charge. A late fee of $25.00 is assessed if monthly payments are not received by the 15th of the month.
• If a child does not follow the rules of the After School Program, he/she may no longer be eligible for the program.
• Discipline procedures are consistent with those outlined in the Parent/Student Handbook.
• The school does not have a program to address the individual needs of special children.
• The program does not provide transportation services or field trips.
• Medications are not given in this program. In the event of an emergency, the principal and 911 will be called.
• A snack is provided for students who remain after 4:30 p.m. Parents may, upon request, review the inspection reports.

The Health office is open during school hours. School nurses, as well as other personnel, cannot give out medication unless doctor's permission form is turned into the office. Please contact the nurse if you have any questions.
